There are THOMAS baptisms in the parish register from 1728 by William & Catherine

5XG grandfather Henry of the Glin was buried at Newchurch on 17 Dec 1756
4XG grandfather John married at Newchurch on 2 Feb 1765, and they baptised 3XG grandfather James on 24 Apr 1774. James married Elizabeth MICHAEL at Llanvihangel torymynydd on 3 Dec 1794, and all their children were baptised there, including GG grandfather John in 1795.
Thomas of the Glyn was buried at Newchurch on 25 May 1778; his headstone survives and reads "Underneath this stone lieth the body of Thomas THOMAS who departed this life in the year of our Lord 1778" It is surmised that Thomas may be a brother of Henry

Newchurch is the Chepstow Registration District created 1st July 1837. Mainly in Monmouthshire, but included parts of Gloucestershire.
